It doesn't seem like we've come up with a rule that a majority of people will agree to.

Some dont want rosters to ever be illegal.
Some want a strict timeframe placed on getting a roster legal.
Some dont want a timeframe at all.
Some dont mind teams making trades to get their roster legal.
Some are vehemently against that.

Part of me wants to make a subcommittee of Gyno, DJ30, and Boo and have them work up a proposal that they think everyone will agree to...

I honestly think if you make a trade that makes your team illegal, you should have 24 hours to get it legal using any means necessary...including trading.

The punishment is the hard thing to figure out.

This is my first dynasty league with the amount of trading going on so I guess I'm naive. I don't have a problem with an illegal lineup for a 24 hour span while you decide who to drop/make a trade to make it legal.

The only drawback is what MWG said, buyer's remorse after you see the immediate reactions from the board.

I don't like the idea of cancelling the trade but what's the penalty? Some people (MWG) don't have draft picks for the next decade to take away.

Losing a week of add/drops during the season isn't a good enough penalty?

Also, MLB teams have a time period in which they can get their rosters right after a trade, including making additional trades. It happens all the time during the trade deadline. No reason why we can't have a 24 hour period during the offseason, IMO.

I think a 24-hour period to make your lineup legal is reasonable. I also think that the next move should have to make the lineup legal. ETA: By any allowed means, including a subsequent trade.

As for a penalty, how about $$? $25 per 24 hours the lineup remains illegal. Treat it like an additional bottom feeder penalty.

I proposed this last time but why don’t we designate who you would like dropped in the trade note should it be accepted

I felt like that might be tipping your hand a bit.

I'm still open to it though if others are.

ETA: I also question how many people will remember to do this when proposing a trade.

you guys are over thinking this.

If someone makes a trade and becomes illegal, they have 24 hours to get legit or....

They're out of the league and they owe an apology

I like it but I'm not sure what you mean the next move should have to make you legal.

If I need to drop 2 players like I did yesterday, can I trade each for a draft pick (2 separate moves) if I do it within 24 hours?

I think he means you can't make any moves that aren't taking you in the right direction.

DJ said last night that he has an issue with the 24 hour rule, due to him sometimes having to go offshore, etc without much notice. How do we handle that?

If you’re going 24 hours or more not checking your lineup you shouldn’t be in this league
