Novel concept there Boo. Streaming a pitcher to protect your IP lead. Almost like you want to win as many cats as possible.
its always an easy decision when your getting blown out in the categories that actually determine if your pitching is good or not

Yeah, I think Morton is the Astros' #3 right now after Keuchel and McCullers. If anyone loses a spot it'll be Fiers.
Although that was before Morton hit the DL... that changes things. Terrible timing for you... as an Astros fan I hope it's not for long.

ya, Fiers got moved to the pen. Though Morton now hits the DL

You're looking at it too simple.
He's the one that's actually ahead in IP, so even in the most simple of strategies, him picking up Nelson is a block on my strategy. But you and LE are right, what does he have to lose.
Last night I was hoping he'd think I wouldn't stream so I could pick Nelson up right before games started. Nope, one move ahead. Ok, well I'll still try to win that cat by picking up the next shittiest SP. I might still be behind in IP, so I pick up the 3rd shittiest SP or worse, the last available starter of the day. I get shelled for 10 runs on the day, losing two cats to pick up one.
I'm an idiot manager obviously.
But none of that happens if he doesn't do something as simple as streaming a SP to protect IP with nothing to lose.

If I was out of town or something you'd probably have gotten the jump on me, but I'm just chilling this weekend so paying a little more attention.
We both have a shite ton of innings, so even if your guy does get shelled (and he would have been my second choice if you had grabbed Nelson) it's unlikely it'll flip K/9, ERA, or WHIP. Possibly, but unlikely. And I had Odorizzi give me a 5.2, and Gio and Eickhoff both give me a 5.1 this week while all three were in position for a QS... if that doesn't happen then there's one more stat in play, but so it goes.

lat strains can be a bitch, but i dont think this is panic mode for stros. Peacock looks legit, Devenski can bridge any gap there. How has paulino and martes looked? is mchugh a done thing? what ab that guy brady rogers

If the regression fairies don't show up.
Kinda profiles like a Matt Carpenter. Didn't show much pop in minors, flashed and stuck as utility guy at 26. Although Carp's power surge took 3 years.

Producing results.
The guy papz just picked up could be the next formerly rostered player to kick my arse after I drop him and he's someone that could be a Taylor, let me tel you why.
Both Taylor and Pham are among the top 20 or so in the league in avg exit velocity at 91 mph. Pham is actually generating more batted ball events and barrels per plate appearance than Taylor, but he's hitting at a much lower angle leading to a higher ground ball percentage and he Ks more than Taylor. Both have ridiculous babips right now.
His swing might not change to produce like Taylor and he could end up not getting playing time like Taylor should, but my luck Pham is gonna kick my arse next week.

Neither of them has pitched well enough in AAA to force the Astros' hand. Paulino has only made 3 starts... Martes has made 7, but he has issued 24 BB in only 29.2 IP. That's dreadful.

No, but unless he turns into his 2015 self, he's a 4th or 5th guy. I'm holding him in this league, but I haven't had serious injury issues yet. :knockonwood:

I think Paulino is a reliever all the way; Martes ain't ready; lat strains fricking suck
I want to win. Make the trade.

6 adds kill me. I was waiting on Sunday night. Chose a prospect over Pham because I get all the excites sometimes
