we need to add a slot on our roster for washed up MLB player playing overseas.

Wilin Rosario is the one to keep an eye on, IMO.

Did you miss Gagne pitching for Team Canada in the WBC? Dude still has it.

Meaning, that once you leave MLB, your eligibility is negated, correct?
Just trying to clarify what you are proposing so I word it correctly when I create the poll to vote on this.

Definitely needs to be worded properly... right now guys like Ortiz, A-Rod, and Bonds have left MLB (as far as playing) but could unretire. Then are they free agents or do they have to go through our draft?

I wouldn't say leave MLB. So a guy like Brett Lawrie doesn't have an MLB team, he can be added whenever still
Once you're property of another league that's not MLB, you're not an MLB player. Wilin Rosario isn't an MLB player

Okay, but if someone does go overseas, like say Jung-ho Kang ends up playing in Korea this season because of his visa issues... CQQ can still keep him rostered to retain rights if he wants to.

No

I mean no one is going to continue to roster a guy if they go foreign, but sure, if they want to hold him uninterrupted they can retain the rights.

I wouldn't think so either, but still, they shouldn't be forced to drop the guy.
