ESPN IR Roster Spot

I traded Bell last week and received Mark Ingram for him in due to our league having RB roster spot limits (3 max limit-long story, this is just how our league is, kind of dumb I know). My other 2 RBs before the Bell trade were Cook and Collins. Scrolling through the leagues scoreboard this week I notice the guy I traded Bell too has 4 RBs rostered because ESPN has Bell listed as out. This allows him to put Bell in the IR spot. The sole reason I traded for Bell was because I couldn’t roster a RB that couldn’t possibly play until week 10.
Is this just how the IR spot works? And can I bitch to where the other guy has to drop a RB?
Yeah I’m prolly big salty that I know have traded Bell for nothing.

I have been know to say, “Tell me the rules & I will play”. Every league & fantasy host is different, so you really need to know what the game is. Sorry, but know you are not the only one. I made a few of those mistakes when I started this silly game a long time ago.

you're being salty for sure. If ESPN designates a player as OUT, he can be put on IR. That's just how it is. That is why IR spots are stupid for football

If I could have put Ingram there I wouldn’t have had any problem with it but since he’s labeled as SUSP and Bell has O by his name I’m out a dang first rounder.
It’s our first year messing around with the IR spot as well.

Same. I’ve been playing for years. Joined a new league this year and got hit with some weird scoring rules for defense that make it way more valuable. So everyone that has been in the league knew the defense rules, I had no clue and hadn’t thought to check that far, so now I’m playing at a disadvantage. And I’ve been playing for over 10 years now

It's dumb that Bell can be put in IR, but since you owned him before, you should have known that you could put him there. Just a mistake on your part that you now have to live with.

Hell man. I didn’t even think to put him there. I figured Espn had some competency to where the IR spot was used for injuries only. Not dumbledicks that are trying to hold out and get paid.
I’m just salty that’s all.
