Draft Kings Week 1!

You know you want to. It's the first week of season. Bills are piling up. Gotta make bank somewhere. Well this is how my friends.

Here's how it works...

There are recurring contest starting with tonight's great matchup between KC and Detroit. We got 2 that include tonight's game. THEN...we have 5 other contests starting with the Sunday games.

Plenty of chances to win. Now's the time! What are you waiting for. Operators standing by!!

I fully agree. What happened last year is some new contests were set up but it turns out the recurring ones from last year recur every year so we got more than we expected.

I contacted DraftKings about eliminating some of the recurring contests, but I don’t think there’s any way to do it unless people just don’t play.

Other than deleting the league and starting over, and not letting members start their own contests in the league, not sure you can delete a contest unless it dies off. I think they told me 2 weeks with nobody in it? Frustrating.

Hi. This was a league set up with primarily users from TD for fun a couple of years ago.

If you don't have DK, then you need to set up an account and put some dough in first. Click that link above and you're in the league. What you'll see is a number of recurring weekly contests. Some were set up by some of the users and others by me. As noted, we got more than we wanted, but it is what it is apparently. Some start tonight and run through Monday. Others start with the Sunday games. You'll see where it says Sun. or if the clock's ticking in hours, like some of them are for tonight's game, you'll see hours/minutes.

There are currently 2 types of contests: Weekly head to head and Showdown Slates, which are for a specific game, like tonight. You're competing with others up to the contest size limit. Sometimes it'll be less, but still a go. You pick your players based upon who you think will score the most points. The rules outline the payouts, but some are "winner take all" and others have several spots that get paid. The info section in the contest shows what could be paid out. You can play each week, or whenever you feel like it. Totally voluntary.

It's been a blast doing it, so check it out (BTW, most States now allow DK, but there might be a location issue, so watch for that.)

Tie for first place in the first showdown. Not a bad start to the season.

It's a game script option. With two great defenses, how will this play out. Allen's had some problems with the Jets. Rodgers might get smothered by the Bill's D. Could come down to having a kicker in the Captain's Spot.

I was obviously joking about putting a guard in the Captain spot, but considering I used Rodgers, a guard would have been just as good.
