Do ya'll think he will be anything close to what he was in Houston, or are his best days behind him. Thinking about taking him like in round 8 or 9.

Impossible to tell but my instincts are telling me to stay away from Watson . I think there’s safer options to be had once the other positions dry up. Maybe I’m nuts but I’ve been eyeballing Russell Wilson in the late rounds. I could see him going scorched earth this year with S Payton in town. I also like Geno Smith much better than Watson a round or two later. Just my .02.

Watson is probably the biggest risk/reward QB option outside of Richardson. Elite Watson is in that tier with Burrow, Herbert, Lamar, etc. Watson from last year isn't rosterable in a 1 QB league.

I'd be more willing to gamble on the upside in a shallower league where there's decent streaming options in case it's more of the same from last year.

I like Watson’s ADP. I think people forget how good he was and he has weapons in cleveland. If you miss out on the elite can’t miss qbs or just want to solidified your position groups before targeting a qb then he is great option with some high upside

He was very good in Houston. QB4 in 2018, QB4 in 2019, QB5 in 2020.

Ehhhhh. Their weapons really aren't anything special. Cooper is an average WR1, WR2 Elijah Moore has flashed but hasn't exactly lit the world on fire, everything after those two is unproven

Njoku is a solid receiving TE. Chubb is not a good pass catcher.

Plus they'll need to shift the offense for Watson to hit his ceiling. 31.8 passing attempts a game for a team that went 7-10 is not great. Watson averaged less than 30 attempts a game in the 6 he started. The truly elite fantasy QBs throw 35-40 pass attempts a game (Mahomes, Burrow, etc.) or run a ton (Lamar, Fields, etc.). We'll see if they adjust the offense in a way that lets Watson get there.

I have him on my bench in a dynasty league, but I wouldn’t want him in redraft.

Did I say his weapons were special? I said he had some weapons. It is a solid supporting cast. Amari Cooper has shown the ability to absolutely take over a game. He produced even while watson was out last year. DPJ had over 800 yards last year and was coming in to his own. Moore has shown flashes like you said. We will see. Njoku is an underrated tight end. Oline is top 3 and Chubb is one of the best backs in the league. It doesn’t matter that he isn’t the best pass catcher. He will open up the pass. They are very well rounded and offense looks very good overall. Plus deshaun watson is dual threat which is good for fantasy

I took Deshaun Watson as my QB1 in a 12 team SF Dynasty startup auction. I bid like $70/$1000 on him. Really think people forgot how good that guy is.

Right, because they were going to let a quarterback who hadn't played in a year and a half come in airing it out in Cleveland playing outdoors in the winter including that Saints game where the Real Feel was like -20.

Context matters.

I have him at an absolute steal value as a keeper - in a 16 team league at that

But think he could easily be a dual threat top 10 qb. If he picks up 20-30 on the ground weekly, and steals a few rushing touchdowns, plus even good but not elite passing suddenly he’s a steal.
