368 was the top score this week
Posted on 2/23/16 at 8:32 am to tzimme4
My highest score ever was somewhere in the 350s
I think it was the Daytona 500 last year which is nuts
Would like us to discuss our fails or successes after each week. Tried this thread last year and it took a gump grumpy like a week and a half into the season

What are the max points you can get in a race?
The max number of points you could possibly get for a single race is 417. I've never seen it done and it would damn near be like winning the lottery. First of all, of your 8 Starters and Bench drivers, 4 would have to qualify 1-4, you would then have to move all qualifiers to Starters, the Pole starter would have to lead the most laps and win the race, then drivers 2-4 would have to lead at least 1 race lap and finish the race 2nd-4th. The breakdown would look like this:
Driver A: Win the pole qualifying (10 points), lead the most race laps (20 points) and win the race (90 points).
Driver B: Come in 2nd in qualifying (5 points), lead at least 1 race lap (10 points) and come in 2nd in the race (88 points).
Driver C: Come in 3rd qualifying (3 points), lead at least 1 race lap (10 points) and come in 3rd in the race (86 points).
Driver D: Come in 4th in qualifying (1 point), lead at least 1 race lap (10 points) and come in 4th in the race (84 points).
As you can see, you would need a lot of luck for all these stars to align. I'm no math whiz, but I'm sure the odds of this happening are pretty damn high. This will be my 3rd year playing this format and I don't recall anyone scoring over 400 points. (Not saying it hasn't happened, I just don't remember it). I've seen a lot of high 300's, which are very good scores.

You can move guys off the bench after qualifying?

Yes. The date this week to pick your Starters and Bench drivers is 26th at 4am. After that, another date will be posted to swap your Bench and Starters. Usually an hour or so before the start of the race. Qualifying points count for all 8 of your picks.

If you player is on your bench does that go against his 9 starts?

I picked Jr and Mears last week. Fail. OH! And my bench driver for Group A was Hamlin. I thought my logic was sound; about 78% of the people playing were picking Jr and I figured if he won and I didn't pick him I would be far behind. Also, before this past Sunday, Mears hadn't finished less than 11th in like the last 6 or so plate races. My score - 170.
Time to rethink my logic. Thank goodness it was the first race of the year. I have time to catch up.

No. Only if a driver is a Starter does it go against his 9 starts.

Sometimes I look at what I had on my bench after a race and say "well sure could of used everyone of you to be my starters"

After a race? I say it a dozen times during a race!

Am I missing something? It's not letting me change out my drivers.

I've noticed it's done that to me in the past. I usually try another platform (phone, tablet ect) or just try in a different browser. A couple times I did all of that and it was still fricked.
When is the change your lineup deadline this week?

The deadline to choose drivers for this week was at 4am this morning. You are stuck with the 8 you have picked from last week, but can move them from the Bench to Starters and back. The deadline to swap Starters/Bench is 12:11pm Sunday.
Be sure and keep up with those deadlines! They change from week to week depending on when qualifying is and when the race starts.

That's why my rule of thumb is to always change my lineup Thursday morning. Every single week

Well shite, Waltrip isn't even entered this week. The others I could live with.
