On Domonic Brown:
1) He had a hand injury in spring last year that slowed him down. Mayberry subsequently took over. Hand injuries affect batters for awhile even after they heal.
2) The Phillies started tinkering with his swing. They didn't believe he could hit the high inside fastball with his hands held so high.
3) When he did play his batting numbers actually improved from the previous year. Showed more patience at the plate.
4) The GM (Amato?) stated that he wants DB to get a full year in AAA this year from the beginning so his path was set before ST.
5) His fielding in ST was horrendous and he had more small injuries.
IMO, he has a nice future with another team. The Phillies tried to trade him at the deadline last year but it didn't work out. He has a solid approach at the plate, a quick bat, and good speed on the bases. He'll be one of those guys that provides 20/20 upside, but you'll have to wait until 2013 or 2014.

dammit I better not end up using my 30,000th post on Dominic Brown.

Id more than bet the Phils will deal him for a veteran bat at a position of need. Probably an infielder once they realize Utley and Howard are more injured than they think.

Whatever gonads. I saw what you said about my "Idiotic Trade" in RW3R. That was very hurtful.

They should, I think a fresh start would do him good.
I wonder how much control is still left on Brown?

My apologies Earl...maybe Belt will prove me wrong.
Speaking of prospect stuggles, where does Snider land now that Thames has won the job?

Ideally, sure. He starts raking in AAA and Mayberry isnt hitting or someone gets injured, do you think they'd hesitate to call him up? They are trying to win a division. Their window is now.
Even so they can play Mayberry at 1B if it comes down to it. I know they have Juan Pierre too in the OF, but i still think Brown could see some time this year.
ETA: Amarao btw. Rueben Amaro.

I think the Jays are showcasing Snider or Thames for a trade. Alex Anthopoulos (AA) is know as a "value whore". One of the two gets traded before or in July. I go back and forth on which one. I believe Snider has more upside, but I'm not sure if the Jays are tired of him. Snider's new hand position at the plate worked well in ST, but he needs to increase his contact %. I'd like to see (AA) leave Snider in the PCL for a month or so to build up his value and for Epstein to snag him as part of a deal for Garza. It will be interesting to watch. Other than the Ks I thought Snider outplayed Thames in ST. Thames isn't a high contact guy and has many of the same issues as Snider (trouble against lefties etc....).
