how are you even gonna field a team if you dont have enough picks??? shouldnt pick trades be in essence a pick swap giving whatever teams worst pick at the time to the team giving up the better pick.

you add free agents after the draft.

it's up to the owner. Im some cases it works, but like I said, what if by some point in the middle of the season, you make a trade with a team that has accumulated enough picks to where his last pick(one he wont use in next draft) is like in the 11th round?

You just should give that pick away to a team to make it even?

naw, that is stupid and ruins the competitive balance.

FTR I thought it was gay that someone would trade a keeper for a late one round pick swap.

No, I am in RW3R. I thought Redd said that he was making me and Rondo co-commishes but I don't think he ever did.

Any trade involving picks should result in both teams having a full set of picks after the trade. The current fiasco is beyond ridiculous. There shouldn't have to be a rule requiring common sense, but as is always the case common sense is uncommon.

For now this mess will come out in the wash - those with too many picks will have to cut the excess to get legal and the short straws will be able to fill in off the wire. Last round picks are typically worthless anyway - the pagans and torreses of this season won't be id'd until a month in to the season.

The "short straw" now has 2 free picks, not really short anymore.

Also, past 16th round picks- Scott Rolen, Franklin Gutierrez, Brett Gardner, Marlon Byrd, Matt Thornton, Yuniesky Betancourt, Annibal Sanchez, Jamie Garcia

Anyways, it's the principle of these deals that are ridiculous. They shouldn't be allowed.

After the draft marle - we have roster limits. What's the point of drafting 30 players if you have to drop 2 the next day?
