i dont think they should have too.

like i mentioned the last time, what if after a few trades, the latest pick you have is an 11th or 12th round pick? Even if i am not using it, im not going to just give it to someone else to make the picks even.

How do we want to handle the over/short in number of draft picks? Now that the trades are entered, how about this:

I'll go down the list and in order give the last available pick to the team that got shortchanged
Say a team did a 1 for 0: go back to those same two and give last pick of the guy that's over to the guy that's short

ETA: This is essentially what we did in TDBBL. Any objections?

quote:

his is all fricked up. Gyno has SIX mismatched trades, and it's a fricking mess to try to fix.

quote:

LE has spoken. The picks will stay the way that they are.

Gyno just lost a chance to get a 9th and a 10th rounder added to his draft.

quote:

I can see where LE is coming from. If they don't do a pick swap during the season, it's on them.

Gyno says

quote:

Now, about those draft picks... you can just plug em in for me.

Reddfigg says

quote:

Sorry pal. Can't do it.

I personally dont give a frick if someone with a spare 16th round pick gives theirs to someone that is short a pick.

Sooooo why didn't we do it when it was brought up?

- It wasn't put to a vote or anything, it was you, me, LE, and redd talking, and he ultimately decided not to give them back.

-Like it says, I was short 6 picks.

-I now have 16. Obviously I had to trade for 6.

-Don't you think I could've done things differently if I had those picks given back to me?

would u be upset if Clams sent me his 11th round pick that he has no use for?

i really dont see how anyone thinks giving away picks is OK, even if they are last round and even if it is to the worst team

I pretty much agreed with Marle that it was stupid for me not to get the picks back, therefore I didn't argue. It was my fault.

Did I want the picks? frick yes!

so where do you draw the line? Can i accept a player for free that someone wants to give me that they arent keeping? Cant i take on Clams' 11th round pick he isnt using if he is feeling like a nice guy?

picks are an asset in every trade or any transaction. i dont think they should be given for free.

if you are short, that is on you and you only. It's all part of the day to day managing.

and i agree, gyno got a raw deal trying to accumulate picks. Now people are just giving Honkus picks for free.
