I like how they explained the labor union amendment 8.
That explanation is completely misleading.
That explanation is completely misleading.

Yep. When I took it I just assumed it was a plain English explanation of the amendments. I didn't really look at it at first because I had already done my HW on which way I wanted to vote on the statewide amendments. Once I realized the line wasn't moving very quickly, I looked through it and realized how partisan it was.

You're right. Apparently, in Alabama, it is 30 feet.

it has no bearing on you anyways.
As a citizen of the state of Alabama, how could this possibly be true?

ETa: Also, you realize board members aren't paid salaries, right?
They get paid "expenses." I know how these things work. If it wasn't a profitable endeavor, people wouldn't stick around for so long.

I voted yes on 2,4,8,10 and 14.

I would vote yes on the private control of state parks, the local rule amendment, and YES on the 2/3 requirement vote for impeachment by the legislature. Right now there is no requirement for impeachment of the Gov in AL which means an impeachment vote technically does not exist because of the lack of a standard.

So, how the Auburn board of trustees works directly impacts you, as a non-Auburn affiliated person?
ETA: This isn't even really how they work. It is just adding two at-large members and staggering term expiration.

They get reimbursed expenses directly related to board work. If you have evidence contrary please provide it.

I was handed an Election Guide by the Alabama Democratic Conference of Jefferson County (which I didn't realize was legal/common)..
I'm pretty sure that's not legal. You should call the police and give them the book you were handed.
Depends on how close to the polling place they were giving them out.
ETA:
Sorry fatkid,
I'm posting as I read the thread. Found the actual law for those interested:
Section 17-9-50
Proximity of persons to polling place.
Except as electors are admitted to vote and persons to assist them as herein provided, and except for the judge of probate, the sheriff, or his or her deputy, the precinct election officials, and watchers, no person shall be permitted within 30 feet of the door of the building of the polling place.
(Code 1896, §1621; Code 1907, §371; Code 1923, §461; Code 1940, T. 17, §144; §17-7-18; amended and renumbered by Act 2006-570, p. 1331, §48.)
Title 17 in AL for all things election law related: AL Code

It didn't bother me that they were handing them out in Fultondale what bothered me was the poll workers allowing people to leave them on the tables after they were done.
Posted on 11/8/16 at 2:13 pm to CaptSpaulding
Case and point why it is silly that type of thing is open to the entire state.
