I've had to (carefully) tap the female side with a blunt punch before

Have someone move the controls around while you try to put it in that’s what I have to do on mine

Should be able to push a screwdriver against the lil balls on the inside the fitting they may just be stuck (hydraulic/friction)

He can’t get his lil male stub to enter the female receptacle. There’s a chance that it’s built up pressure on the female or male side. Or possibly the male or female units have crust or corrosion from not being utilized enough. ( most of the time the issue is with the female not wanting the male to insert)
He can try to tap it or slide it in and out rapidly and it may mate up.
That clear it up for you?

Need to unload the ram its supplying. The weight of the implement is keeping pressure in the line, making the ball check impossible to push in. If its a loader, jack the loader up

Rule of thumb for me is anytime I disconnect an implement, lower everything to the ground, turn the tractor off, cycle through all the positions for that hookup, then unhook.
Hooking up, get in position, turn off the tractor, move the levers for that hookup through all their positions, then hookup.
The key is not to have pressure on either side, the tractor side or implement side.

I will say that the valve came out while using.
I did not disconnect.
