It was a dumb trade at the time

If you liked Thomas more than Green, you should have gotten more. Green was a top WR at that point

I don't think he would have traded Thomas and another player of value for Green. Thomas's rookie stats were comparable to Green's rookie stats. The gist is that everyone thought I was crazy to give up Green, especially for Thomas, and I was not. It was a great trade, and he bit on it precisely for the reason you name it a bad trade.

Yes he would have. Using Thomas' rookie stats in comparison to Green makes absolutely no sense here. At the time of your post, Michael Thomas had not played a single down in the NFL and AJ Green was in the prime of his career.

Just because you are a homer and made a bad offer, it doesn't mean that it can't work out in your favor. Fantasy football is random as hell. You also rescinded your offer it appears so I mean... is he really even on your team or were you just looking for some attention?

papz,

I'll answer your question, because it's a good one, but I don't usually argue with people that I don't know.

After looking at the date, you must be right. I must have first floated the idea of acquiring Thomas after reading this board. I made the trade after his rookie season. I think it must have taken me a while to convince myself that it was an okay trade.

As for the attention, I do wish that I could delete the post. It is self-congratulatory, and I don't want to get roped into name calling with folks I don't know.

You made a good point, one that I had forgotten, and it probably was a bad trade by most standards.

It turned out okay, so I guess I just got lucky.

Yeah, I did.

Hopefully this will be gone soon.

My "attention whore" days are coming to an end!

I agree. Great bump.

I started reading this thread without looking at the date and was like, "WTF?!?!?"

I was able to draft Thomas with an early 2nd Rd pick I acquired by trading Ryan Fitzpatrick, Charles Sims and a pick swap.

Superflex league, and Fitz was coming off that great year with Marshall and Decker. The day of my draft, I saw a training camp clip of Thomas making a diving grab around a DB and was determined to draft him.

Still my proudest dynasty moment yet.
