Do you guys lower your caloric intake about a week or so before Thanksgiving so you can eat more and not have to worry about gaining weight? I've lowered my caloric intake from 3200 calories/day to 2200 calories/day starting today.
Started last January at 230lbs. Cholesterol was 250, BP was 140/117.
Went back in July for a follow up and I was at 180lbs, cholesterol was 188, BP was 114/70. I've been eating 3200 calories a day and have been putting on muscle. Weigh between 180-182 now. So I've maintained my weight while adding muscle

I’ll probably continue my usual 4 days eating/3 days fasting. I might throw in an extra fasting day depending on how much I drown my sorrows after the Egg Bowl.

No. I guess you could do something like that if you're really worried. But step back and take a look at your whole year. If you've been fairly dialed in most of the year, will that one day of gluttony really make all that much difference?
Its not what you do some of the time, its what you do most of the time that really matters.

I’ve done weekly calorie average for years now.
I schedule ahead for a big Thursday. Lower Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and allow more for Thursday and Friday.
I also fast till lunch on Thanksgiving. I drink a strong cup of coffee and go for a run. Works out well.
My relationship with food has changed as I’ve gotten older. I lost 70 lbs 10 years ago and have kept it off.
I use to think the tricks sounded cheesy but they help. I fast till lunch, use a smaller plate, try to fill up more on green stuff and protein and allow some of the good stuff.
I also just go one round and then wash my plate. I have another round for dinner as well.
