Heard some good reports from buddies that made it down to Venice. We shot over to catahoula for weekend with sheriff office in plaq unsure if 23 would be open to public earlier in week.

Venice opening day of big duck season ain’t got nothing on catahoula. I thought there were too many ppl in Venice lord have mercy. Every sucker with a gator tail and a new duck commander blue wing teal passifier were out on lake yesterday morning.

This morning still a lot of boats but not as many. Ended with 17 Saturday and 15 today.

Just had fun hunting new place with ppl who grew up hunting on catahoula.

We got two limits of teal yesterday. There were a few big ducks mixed in here and there but not a whole lot. Not much shooting this morning.

It goes like that sometimes. Good to know there are a few big ducks getting pushed down I guess.

ETA: Dpier, you talking Catahoula Lake, or the south La Catahoula area?

Sunday in Bayou Black, saw 10-15 groups of teal. They weren't looking. It's nice to see some birds in the area, though. Didn't kill any.

I was telling my son Sat morning that I had never seen so many singles. Most of the times a couple of wads of teal and its over. The biggest group we shot into was 3.

A little up the road from Point A La Hache on Saturday. Three boats went out saw a few groups but none would work. Zero birds down.

Sunday I did not go but my partners took one boat to a property further down river and smashed them. 15 teal with four guys.
