Help a noob get a PS5

So I’m a pretty big newb when it comes to the new consoles so somebody please help me out
I understand I can skip the disk drive but can someone tell me what I can expect to pay for a PS5 with 1TB storage and no disk drive?
Of course I googled but prices are all over the place and I’m not sure what I should do, I don’t mind paying a little more for a console due to their apparent scarceness but some of these are over $1,000
Which brings me to my next question, is it even possible to get one? And If so where should I try to get one and how much should I expect to pay?

Tbh you don’t REALLLY need one yet. You can play most anything worth it on PS4 still and while you don’t get the new features it’s something. The Demon Souls remake is pretty but a novelty the bigger thing you’re missing is Yuffie Dlc for FF7 remake. I’d make sure I had one before FF16 God of War and Remake part 2 launched latest but the by forbidden west

Well like I said I paid second market 1200 for mine, but from forums I visit and people I know Kohl’s and Best But have best chance at stock shelf’s. Sometimes Walmart online immediate at release

I see a bunch of listings on eBay for between $700-$800, are those generally legit? There’s so much scam shite out there now idk what to trust anymore. Most of their seller reviews are 99% or 100% positive but I’m sure those aren’t to be trusted either

700 is really cheap even for the base version. Those chips are still rare as hell. I got a top line for instance and it’s gone down from 1200 to 1000-1050 in 6 months

But you think those listings are generally trustworthy? I know you have no way to truly know so I won’t be mad at you or anything if it doesn’t work out

I didn't see this listed in the post that finch referred you to, but I installed an app called HotStock on my phone and a few weeks later was able to get one from Target at retail price. Be sure to go into the app and set it to send you alerts for PS5's.

Follow this guy on Twitter and make sure you have your alerts on and be ready to go 24/7. I got mine within 3 weeks of me starting to follow him. Also he does it for free and I paid regular price. He's legit and have been on several Shows talking about helping people get PS5 and The new XBOX.

How fast are the PS5s selling out once they drop? is it still 10 seconds like it was on launch day?

You can create an account with Sony Direct and turn on notifications. They send out emails with invite only drops. I received the email yesterday. The drop is at 2pm CT today. If there are consoles left then there will likely be a public drop around 4pm CT.

I got one from gamestop today and as of rt now i can still add more to my cart
