Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon will remain closed for the foreseeable future after Colorado Department of Transportation employees surveyed damage from recent mud and rock slides and found damage “unlike anything they had seen before.”

Too bad. That’s arguably the most beautiful stretch of Interstate in the country.

On Thursday, more than 100 people had to spend the night on I-70 through the canyon, including nearly 30 who took refuge in a tunnel near the Hanging Lake exit, after a storm triggered slides.

Every night when I'm putting the baby to sleep, I just see a long line of headlights coming off the pass. I know one of my favorite drives is Indy at night.

The couple that owns the coffee van is printing money with all the traffic coming through.

Bruv, come to Leadville and you can experience it today.

I'm so glad I know the backroads.

I've got a buddy in Aspen right now and recommended he do the Hanging Lake hike this week. Doesn't look like that will be happening now. I bet Steamboat is excited for all the 18 wheeler traffic headed their way. Many traversing the state though will take 25 North to 80 West and go around it entirely.
