Looking for some insight. Traveling with 3 kiddos and want to explore the day Saturday (don't have to beach it since that is what we'll be doing Sunday-Friday next week).

Places to eat?
Breakfast recs?
Lunch recs?
Dinner recs?

Activities?

Rent bikes? I have 2 under the age of 7 (6 and 5) could they bike that?

or

Kayak?

Just trying to get some boots on the ground type of experiences. We had gone that way before but not during the summer. Had an opportunity to go 2 days early out there so found a last min deal on a condo.

Excited!

Old Florida Fish House, Stinky's Fish Camp, Cafe 30a... Buy fresh seafood to cook at Goatfeathers (they will season and steam shrimp for no charge). There really isn't that much to do unless you want to shop at Seaside or Rosemary Beach. We usually just go to the beach, go for golf cart rides, and go out to eat. I'd suggest bringing a paddle board, kayak, or bike just to have an activity. Crowded as frick during the summer. Got charged $27 for a rum and tonic at Bud and Alleys a few months ago. Enjoy!

$27???? Was it a special type of rum? What does a draft beer cost at B&A?

Leaving in a week so I need to know if I have to get a second mortgage before I go to Bud and Allys.

Yeah it was. I ordered a rum and tonic and the bar tender asked what kind of rum. I was a dumb arse for saying "whatever you recommend". Tasted no better than Mount Gay when mixed with tonic. Draft beer at bud and alleys will run you $6-$10 usually. On tuesday and thursday nights they have $6 martinis at cafe 30a which is about the best deal around.

If you are going to rent bikes you will want to make a reservation. Tried to rent some in May and called the day that we wanted them, there were none to be had. All booked up.

Look at the events held at the Seaside Amphitheater (children’s music and plays), and see if Watercolor is holding any outdoor theatre events.

https://sowal.com/events

The Boathouse in the back of Watercolor is where you want to rent Stand-up Paddleboards or kayaks.

My son LOVES to go off-roading on the trails between 30a and 98:

We usually go in at 2, and stay on that side of 395.

Kids love the ice cream shop in the back of the seaside horseshoe…

I would be a little nervous trying to bike 30 A with that age of kids

You see a lot of young kids riding bikes. Main thing to look out for is teenagers on golf carts or cars whipping in to a condo or driveway without looking behind them for people on the side walk. There is a donut shop by Goatfeathers that has a lot of specialty donuts the kids would like.

There's a good liquor store/grocery store called The Carousel towards Panama City. I'm not sure if other places have similar prices, but we've shopped there the last two years and bought several handles for the week.

Cafe Thirty-A has always been one of my favorite hang outs.
