Just started this and really do not know much about it. Anyone here played it? It feels just like Tyranny to me

Played both 1 and 2. My favorite rpgs of the last decade, 2 in particular.

How did you build your party?

For 1 I used a 50/50 mix of physical and magic.

2 really forces you to go all in on a specific damage type due to the armor system. So I typically go all physical. 1 tank, 1 two handed warrior, a rogue and and an archer/summoner

It was waaayyyyy too in depth for what I was looking for.

It can be as immersive as you want it to be.

I had about 80 hours in 2 and had a party that was unable to beat the final boss fight.

The game is unforgiving

I started a few months back and have played sparingly. But I really enjoy it. I'm almost finished with the first area and have a party of two mages, a tank, and an archer.

I need to play more so I can get to 2.

Same plan here. Getting poisoned by the zombies is causing me fits. I'm just finding accessories that will help after completing the light tower

Way too deep for me.

I have gravitated to ARPGs as I have gotten older and don't have as much time to game.

Bought the 1st one a few years back and actually got pretty far but never finished. I liked the challenging gameplay but I had a really hard time following the story once you get past the initial Murder mystery in the beginning. Story and
Plot is everything to me in an RPG so that kinda made me lose interest

I never played 1 but I just started a replay of 2. 2 is one of the top CRPGs all time.

Great acting, score and story.

Solid to hard difficulty. You really have to use the terrain and environmental effects.

I tried really hard to get into the second one. They don’t hold your hand like most RPGs, you have to do most of the thinking and leg work. I got frustrated

Yeah. Not much of a combat tutorial and if you play hardest difficulty you get destroyed. Even standard difficulty is hard. You need to save scum a bit and learn which fights to skip until leveled appropriately.
