It Meridian a safe place to stay for a night to split up some travel with the kids?

I stayed at the Drury Inn there when I went to LSU-Bama game. There's a few chain restaurants in walking distance of the parking lot.

Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and you’ll be fine. There is a BWW nearby and several other chain options. There is a restaurant downtown called Weidmanns that is a hidden gem....a little more upscale but excellent food.

Yes, that little cluster of hotels right off the interstate and should be fine.

Yes there is a Hampton Inn/Hilton Garden as well as a few others right off the interstate. Food and gas right nearby. Get a good meal, a good night’s sleep and back on the road in the AM. If it’s not Sunday grab a chicken biscuit at Chik Fila on the way out.

Locals affectionately refer to it as "Murderidian," but you'll be fine it you exercise common sense.

Yes, I've stayed there for the State Games.
