Baton Rouge Marriott Recs

I came here versus the OT for a more legitimate response-->
Work will have me traveling from Houston to Baton Rouge. I'll be supporting a client that will be all around town + nights so I needed a safe rec in the Mariott family.
I know the city has changed since 2006 & my time on Hundred Oaks/Fairway View/University Commons.
I'm fine heading back to my room after work and eating there so safety/comfort is more important than next to restaurants since I can't carry my weapon in my company car hahah.

Residence inn by Marriott @ towne center. I think its on commerce circle or loop or whatever. Pretty decent and about as safe as you can get in BR.

I liked it. Lots of good restaurants close by and I think there's a Starbucks right across the street if im not mistaken.

2 good options
Watermark downtown
Renaissance on bluebonnet
If I’m entertaining I’d probably go with the watermark because it has a better bar and restaurant

Watermark is really the only answer ... good rooms, solid bar on site ... etc.
I stayed at the Renaissance recently and the room i had was dated and small.

The last 3 times we’ve stayed at the Renaissance we’ve been in a suite which was recently renovated for not much more than a regular room

FYI, the vault is fake.
The real vault is much smaller, down a hallway past the painted vault.

stayed at the Baton Rouge Marriott a few weeks ago. It was very nice and I think its been completely redone recently - only downside is the bar closes at like 9:00. great location adn lots of restaurants nearby.
