I just started playing last week because I had heard bad things at start up. I’m enjoying it so far. Lots different from previous games and some of the bugs I heard about seem fixed. It takes some getting used to for sure, and I’m still not there, but I like it so far. Any tips for a newbie?

The only thing really keeping this game from sticking with me is the interface delay. I know it's an online game, but that awkward pause before the dialogue options pop up or the inventory of a container taking a few seconds to show is really off-putting.

It’s hard to get used to fighting, using stimpaks etc when you can’t pause. I’m sure I’ll get there but I’ve almost gotten my arse handed to me several times

I’ll pop in periodically. It’s better than it used to be but that isn’t exactly high praise.

I never really played this with a group so perhaps that’s why I don’t seem to stick with it.

Still playing it almost daily but every now and then I'll hit a lull for a week or so.

To Bethesda and I guess Microsoft's credit, they've continued to work to improve it.

It still has so much potential with how massive the map is and new enemies like the Mothman cultists and the Blood Eagles.

Every time you go see Ward for the daily quest, eh?

Any tips for new players? I’m only about level 6 and I’m just trying to gather decent weapons and plenty of ammo and play a few quests. Haven’t gotten the hang of CAMPs and I don’t really know how to do shelters yet

I started playing it a couple months ago and enjoyed it but haven't played in a few weeks. Because of Valheim. Damn you Valheim.

Just a few things:

1. Join a team every time you log in. Doesn't have to be any type in particular. Casual is the best for people doing the same as you. You can fast travel for free to their camps when you have to go across the map which saves a ton of caps. You also get a few caps every time a teammate completes a quest.

2. Check other players' vending machines for plans. Sometimes people will charge ridiculous prices for plans, but others have so many of the same plans that they'll sell rare ones for super cheap. You need the plans to build specific things for your camp/shelter.

3. If you get awarded lunchboxes, use them. They boost the hell out of EXP.

4. Do the daily quests in Foundation and Crater for Gold Bullion. Gold Bullion is endgame currency for great gear. You may have to be at least level 25 for this, I'm not sure.

I'll try to keep thinking of some more

5. You'll always be able to find ammo or craft it. Don't hold on to types you don't use because you can't sell it and it'll just weigh you down.

6. Find a consistent build early. They just gave a great addition with the new perk loadouts that you can change at any time, but it'll be easier to fight if your stats are consistent. Once you get deeper into the game, you'll have enough perk cards to be able to change to any build within seconds.

7. If you're out scavenging, scrap your junk any chance you get. You can use any type of workbench to do this. You won't lose the materials and it'll keep your carry weight down until you can get back to your camp to deposit it.

Bugs are the same, except this weekend there was broken colors on the maps.

The game is broken as hell, but i play it often.

If your on Xboner, and are playing, look for me, i am the Santa Claus of Fall out 76. I go around donating all kinds of stuff to newer players, so they can use or sell.

Last night i gave a dude 300+ or more of every ammo, 50 stimpacks, every booster in game, and 10 weapons/armor that were 3 star. He was very appreciative.

And dont worry about levelling, once you max out your stats/cards(not all 20's), levelling is stupid and worthless.

The creatures they made for this game are brilliant, but man oh man is the game crap.

I play it because i like to kill shite, do quests, and give shite away to younger players(and no, i dont have a white van and ask them to get in for a stimpack)

I was on the one daily quest, where you shoot them with darts and hear the animals/creatures talk. Except, once shot, some of them did the 500mph moon walk bug, and were long gone, have to find another creature to shoot with dart.

You can rack up a lot of xp doing this. I have no mic, so i do everything single player. But ive noticed people in parties levelling up quickly

I know there are better guns and load outs, but i prefer a nice combat shotgun and shotgunning it out of every situation.

Hardest boss i have found is the one for the mine that is buried. He butt raped me many times, had to quit.

Just anyone. And I'm not talking about the normal Bethesda jank. The NPC will speak and the camera will just stay on them and I have no clue if it's going back to me or if that's the end of the interaction. It's not every time but it's enough to be annoying.

bringing the one robot the steaks and veggies is like a chore. It's harder to finish the quest than actually doing it. It takes 4-5 tries to finally get him to accept the full quest and you finally get paid.

Oh and watch out doing the "back on the beat" quest on console, it crashes 60% of the time. And i like this one, because of the good caps pay and meds you find.

I think this game is pretty fun so far. Keep in mind I played for the very first time a week ago

It's not as horrible as i make it. It's just such a disappointment, and the lies and attacks from the people who made it.

They literally blamed the users, and their cancel culture on the bad reviews and such.

I play it 5-7 days a week.
