frick Colin Kapernick. Everytime one of those idiots decides to kneel, they should show Pat Tillman instead.

The football life profile on Pat Tillman is very interesting. There's a lot more to it than you would think.

Tell his story but not too much of the whole story because it'll screw up the patriotism.

He died in friendly fire but the government lied about it. He was against the war and not really the real life Capt. America figure they tried to turn him into for recruiting purposes.

Honest question, but how do you not know this?
I honestly thought it was common sense.

it made me think a lot for sure.

My Father served in Vietnam and never once talked about it.

Without going off on a tangent specifically about that, I'll always hold the military with the upmost respect.

but its tough to find the balance sometimes.

I saw how my Dad lived the last few years of his life. I'm not gonna say what happened but he had PTSD hardcore.

after he died I had very few approach me to talk about him. The ones that did wouldn't even acknowledge his bravery for serving our country.

so sometimes I think its a wash trying to make sense of things.

I sympathize with Tillman's family and anyone who knew him well.

That Football Life Doc of his really hit home with me.

And to further use him for recruiting purposes there are some stories that the NFL and DoD had discussions about letting him out of his service early to return to the NFL. Once he arrived in Iraq and saw what was really going on he thought the war was illegal but was going to honor his commitment and by all accounts he was planning on being a very outspoken critic of the military once his tour in Afghanistan was over and he was out.

Based on the stories I've read about him I'm willing to bet he 100% would have supported Kap had he been alive.

But USA.

I was busy.
family.
service in church sect.
long commute.
very intense technical work.
was studying in evenings.
at first he was reported as heroic and dead. then
I heard friendly fire.
that's all I know to this day.

I see now someone in thread claims Tillman was aghast at our doings.
how could anyone know his mind?

so I dont pay attention.
it looks like competing propaganda.
