Why is having the "police talk" with your children an issue?

Parents have or are supposed to have conversations with their children about peer pressure, drugs, alcohol, sex, driving, and lots of other things. Why is having to have a conversation with your children about how to properly interact with police a big deal? It's just common sence.
However, if you are a parent and you do no know how to properly interact with police then just show this PSA to your kid(s) and maybe you should watch it to yourself too. It's kinda old (2007) but it is still relevant and accurate.
ETA: Watch the damn PSA people. It will give you a good laugh.

I never thought it was. My dad didn't either.

I absolutely talked to my kids about how to act around police. Polite, no sudden moves, respond to their demands. For whatever reason you are in handcuffs, you say NOTHING and just ask for me. I will handle the rest.

My parents taught me to respect authority whether it be them or your teachers or the police.

Maybe you and your father should watch the PSA then.

Not just police but with people in general.
My parents would’ve gone into orbit if I disrespected another adult.

Did they teach you how to deal with the police if your woman is in the car with you and she is mad at you?

It should be self evident.
But don’t fight or resist, keep your mouth shut, handle it with proper legal channels should cover it.

Then you should watch the PSA to educate yourself. You never know when you might need that knowledge.

I didn’t see anything in there that was false.

All parents have a talk about the police with their kids. It seems like that talk is very different for different people
Seems like every time some black lady talks about how they had to give their kids a talk about police it revolves around how cops are evil and will try to kill you instead of respecting them and complying

A good percentage don't know their parents. Grandma is the only figure in their lives.

This is a black activist talking point. All responsible parents ought to have this talk with this kids, and it should ramp up when they begin to drive on their own.
Most of it is simple stuff. Be respectful. Ask permission to reach for anything in the car before doing so. Keep your hands on the wheel unless instructed to do otherwise. if at night, turn your inside lights on before the LEO gets to you if pulled over. Even if you think he's wrong or is being a dick, stay clam and do not argue about it on the side of the road. You can address any issues later, but you're NEVER going to win an argument with a cop on the side of the road and you're going to make the situation potentially dangerous.
Of course, this is a much easier conversation if you've already raised kids that are generally respectful to others, generally follow the rules, generally behave themselves, and will generally listen to your when you have something important like this to tell them.
Suggesting this is somehow a "blacks only" conversation that black MUST have in order to save their lives is so silly. Again, all responsible parents should be having it, and secondly...it's pretty fricking clear based on the evidence that black families by and large are not having the conversation at all or else most of these resisting arrest deaths would have never occurred.

First, whatever their version of "the talk" is, is not working. Second, every decent parent has this talk with their kids. Every white person I know had some version of "the talk" so drop the "it's only us and it's because we are such victims" nonsense.

Yeah...it's the Chris Rock bit, we get it.
At this point, though, it ought to be used as a PSA.

Pretty much this verbatim. My pops told me to treat cops with the same respect as a rattlesnake. He's doing his job and doesn't know you from Adam. Don't give him a reason to be overly suspicious, and never resist an arrest. The one time I was arrested, I followed commands and got an expensive taxi ride. Fight in court, but not the arresting officer.
