do you think that OL still wins the award without the best QB in college history behind them with 1st round talent at every skill position making plays? Every time clyde got the ball, he had to make a spin behind the line of scrimmage before he broke the run. Had burrow been a statue or clyde not been a generationally illusive back, I think that line is 3rd best at best in the SEC.

OK I will play your silly game;

1. You think Burrow would have won the Heisman without the Joe Moore award winning OL?

2. You think our OL would have looked better in 2020 if Brennan hadn't gotten hurt and we had to rely on two 18 year old kids who never took one snap as a college QB?

Joe Burrow made that line look way better than it actually was.

You professor coach does the inverse then hold true?

So in your world we could say our two 18 year old true freshman QB's (Finley & Johnson) with no college football experience made our OL look worse than it actually was?

What exactly is it that you are trying to say here?

I mean having true freshman QBs doesn't exactly help the Oline. But you cannot deny Joe Burrow's pocket presence got him out of a lot of sacks that these freshmen or Brennan would otherwise likely be sacked by.

Just look at our piss poor run blocking this season. LSU's rush yards per attempt was 3.3 this season. The only teams worse in the SEC were Vandy (just a horrible team offensively) and Mississippi State (Mike Leach does not run the bal). And fwiw, this stat is near the very bottom of not just the SEC, but the FBS as well. That's pretty bad lol.

Pass blocking was okay at best, but against SEC competition, nothing eye opening.

What I am saying is you can't have it both ways. So was Clemson's OL only good because they have a great QB In Trevor Lawrence? Same for Ohio St was there OL good because they has Justin Fields?

You’re arguing with morons.

LSU is likely to have its best OL recruiting class in a decade in 2022 and returns the entire line in 2021, and they want to fire the offensive line coach.

It’s a disconnect from reality. The likely outcome is Cregg will get a contract extension, rather than be fired.

Posted this in the other thread

1. Matt Luke, Georgia — $900,000
2. Will Friend, Tennessee — $805,000
3. Bill Bedebaugh, Oklahoma — $750,000
4. Justin Frye, UCLA — $700,000
5. Eric Wolford, South Carolina — $700,000
6. Kyle Flood, Alabama — $650,000
6. Herb Hand, Texas — $650,000
8. Robbie Caldwell, Clemson — $640,000
9. Ed Warinner, Michigan — $625,000
10. Josh Henson, Texas A&M — $605,000

Cregg is about 100k short of that list but is still in line with his salary range among some great OL coaches. A lot of great names on that list and some have higher salary because they have secondary titles like assistant coach. That was salaries last year don't know about 2021. Is Cregg getting the performance for his pay? I don't think so. In line recruiting for a great class doesn't = great class. They have to sign first. He has been dog shite in recruiting for 3 years now and has 2 mediocre to bad offensive lines. You can give him a pass the first year.

If that's the top pay for OL coaches LSU can do better for minimum. Not saying they can poach these guys I'm saying they can find a better coach for the pay they're dishing out.

Aren't you forgetting something? Hey professor coach we beat everyone of those teams we played on your list at least once with Cregg on our staff. Apparently Cregg out coached those "great names" on your list.

Once again professor coach why did O keep Cregg when he has shown us he will fire coaches if they don't perform? He cleaned house this year yet kept Cregg.

I think your posting is dog shite. Cregg hasn't been nearly as bad as you tools make him out to be. Sure he has missed on some big name prospects in the last couple of cycles but so has every other team that didn't sign them. It sucks that we missed on them but he is in the final decision.

Just need to figure how to close better. But looks like we should be strong this year and a good class next year. It is not nearly as bad as the crybabies make it out to be.

Do we not have two of the top OL recruits lined up for us next year. Did we just (2019) have the top awarded OL in the country? Not sure I understand your point here. Pretty good results in my book. OLine appeared to really gel at the end of the year.

He will respond with, they’re just committed, they haven’t signed on the dotted line or some other whiny bullshite. Cregg is obviously banging his wife

So you are saying that Cregg is not in the top half of the SEC, and not in the top 10 nationally in pay, but he is overpaid?

Discussions about what coaches are paid are stupid to begin with.
