1st thing I thought.

I do understand LSU not wanting to offer, and then later pull an offer from an in-state kid because he ends up not being what you hope for. That said, I also don't believe in allowing other major programs to get in on in-state kids before the in-state program does. As the in-state program, identifying and building relationships with local talent early is critical. Otherwise, you could end up with an Etienne situation.

So how does a 2022 player that is getting P5 offers not have a rating from any scouting service?

COVID effect keeping him out of camps?

LSU still puts a high value on in-person evaluations either at camps or with a coach visiting for games. Sometimes that makes it tough to get in early on guys who are not coming from regular talent-producing schools. I'm sure there will be a coach checking him out post haste and at least a conditional offer soon with an expectation that he camps this summer.

I legit wouldn't mind seeing this kid also try his luck at OT.

What's good . He's about the blow up the rankings of his film. And we're apparently no where close to having camps so should be a fun recruitment

A lot of times I believe we hold off on offering in-state kids until we can do it in person. Accordingly we often *appear* to be late on kids like this, even if we actually have been recruiting them all along.

Note that I'm just speculating, though.

ETA: Also, given that there were no camps this past year, we're likely hoping to get some verified numbers on our top tier targets (of whom there are quite a few) before we make an offer to late risers like this guy. It's relatively likely that this is a kid who we can have if we want him--so we want to make damn sure that we actually do want him before we offer him. Holding off doesn't likely cost us anything, but offering early could lead to a situation where we have to drop people from our class at the end like with the 2020 class.

You're not wrong and they like them to camp and everything which we're in such a strange time.

That USC article was like they just found his tape and offered and then he blew up. Just never saw his name mentioned before until now. You have to think surely the staff knew about him...

He can move.

He’ll be rejoining the AES hoops squad soon.

Baudoin and Matt Remondet (6-4, 235) are a big load in the paint for coach Eric Mouton.

Remondet -
