Looking for a good place to go with the wife for spur of the moment long weekend. Live in Nola and want to go up to 5-6 hours away. Wife is pregnant and I don’t drink, so looking for somewhere with sober activities and relaxation. TIA

Well you always have the BnB scene in Natchez or old town Covington(can also consider Southern Star Hotel there).

Maybe look at a little inn or B&B in Bay St. Louis. Hotel Whiskey looks nice in Pass Christian.

For a nicer option, the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL is nice. The shopping in Fairhope would probably make the wife happy.

You could stay at the Hilton San Destin resort or the Pearl down east of there on Hwy 30A.

The Florida panhandle beaches are within 5 hours.

Rosemary Beach

Also dont discount houston. Great food and plenty to do, albeit driving there isn't relaxing.

Galveston is also within that distance I believe.

Lucked out and the in-laws gifted us flights using their miles. Headed to Gatlinburg tomorrow. Never been, but always wanted to go.

Best advice: eat a big breakfast at one of the many pancake houses, the meal quality goes downhill from breakfast.
