Seahawks fired OC Brian Schottenheimer. His offense set a number of Seahawks’ records. But after meeting last night, it was evident there were philosophical differences between Schottenheimer and HC Pete Carroll. They decided a parting was in the best interests of both sides.

I'm more surprised that he had a good offense than him being fired after his stint at UGA.

Same thing happened with Kris Richard after the 2017 season.

He spent the first two weeks of January 2018 interviewing for HC jobs, then quietly gets fired, and is the new DB coach in Dallas before the end of the month.

The NCAA needs to do something about these "analysts," but won't as long as Mark Emmert is running interference for his bro' in Alabama.

Pete thought the offense needed to score more points, and Schotten told him his Oline was trash and holding them back.

Offense was cooking first half of the year but NFL defenses figured it out, shut it down and Schotty never adjusted.

He's a bad coach and is directly responsible for Richt being fired. At UGA he made an offense with Nick Chubb and Sony Michel look like dogshit. The only reason this fool ever got a job anywhere is nepotism.

This guy was a hot name for HC jobs 10 years ago (as OC of the NYJ) and then he stunk with the Jets while Sanchez flamed out.

Wasn't impressed with him at UGA and he did OK until this year with SEA.

Schotty was a Gator after all

but yes, that 2015 UGA team was meh on offense and I agree if his name weren't Schottenheimer, he'd be a position coach at best by now.

Didn't Jeremy Pruitt try and fight him when he was at Georgia?

They had one of the highest scoring teams in the NFL. He was a good OC. Pete didn't like the philosophy so they parted ways.

Yeah because Russ and DK were unstoppable until teams realized they couldn’t run the ball and only ran deep routes with DK

No he wasn’t. Good OCs would have an answer for other NFL teams adjustments

Both of them LOVE running the ball 100 times and having the QB manage the game. They are aligned philology no matter what the press briefing says. Pete just knew he needed a scapegoat to keep the heat off of him.

Anybody watch Seattle's offense the last half of the season and this playoff game?

It was putrid.
