I’ve been invited to go this weekend and camp. Weather looks shitty right now. What can I expect camping out there? Eaten alive my mosquitoes? Wet ground when not raining? Sloppy af bc of the rain?

Hope for cold so the bugs don't carry you away.

If you're camping at one of the camp grounds the ground should be good and hard. Mosquitoes can be bad, but should knocked back this time of year. One thing to remember is make sure you bring EVERYTHING! It's a LONG ride back to Venice marina if you forget something important.

It's a fun and very interesting trip. I went a few years ago---we had a caravan of boats with everything under the sun. Even had generator so we could watch football. However, weather was hot for the first couple of days so we got eaten alive. A storm came through and pimp slapped everything in our camp--tailgates flew around like kites. Trip back up river was pretty tense as well.

If the fog is as thick on the river as it was last weekend, bring extra provisions. You may be stuck down there a while.

Fog is definitely a possibility this weekend again due to the warm up. Temps will be similar to last weekend, just a little cooler. Mosquitos will be out with the warmup but not near as bad as normal. Like others have said, bring everything and more than you think you need. All four campgrounds are on ridges with solid ground. They just built new docks for Caddro and Loomis 1, don't know about south pass and loomis 2. Caddro and Loomis 1 have the most room. Will be plenty of people at those 2 with the opening of the 2nd split.
