Can light remodel

I just bought a new home and had just put the commercial electric led retrofit kits in throughout the whole house. Lighting was better and temperature and aesthetics were better as well.
Now I’m moving and pulled a bulb out of the ceiling and it does not have the spring tension clips.
I have tried to do my research for installing remodel cans and am finding prices online of $200 per can but there is a YouTube video showing a guy changing one out in a few minutes so this seems excessive.
I understand the remodel cans are about $35-40 per 4 cans and the commercial electric led bulbs are about $8-9 a piece ($35 for 4) and based on expected time per can I can’t get to the $200 per can I find online.
Can anyone comment? Appreciate any help and thanks in advance.

There are led fixtures that don't need the can, the clips hold it right into the drywall on the ceiling. It's like a flat disc with a seperate electrical box. Will that work for you?

Used those a lot, easy to install. Just need a good hole cutter and drill.

Holes are already there. Is it pretty easy to change out existing cans?

Are you sure they are the correct size? Those can-less pancake lights are great BUT you need to have exactly the right size hole. The lip on them is very small, and thus very unforgiving to hole size.

This, but I was able to just put a lite bead of corking to finish out if the hole is just a small bit to big. After painting, there is no difference.

Yeah, there isn't much to them. Usually just 3 small screws attaching the housing to the mounting ring and then whatever is attaching the junction box to the joist. Depending on the style, if it has armored cable going from the junction box to the can you can disconnect that and run it into the driver box of the new light fixture.

I just changed some in two of my houses..
First house had the little clip holders in the can you just squeezed the wire clips on the light and slipped in..
Second house (condo) did not have the built in spring clip holders( the little tin thing you bend out a little) or the existing hole in the can to screw in after market clips...but!!! My new lights came with little solid metal v like things...you unscrewed the tension springs and replaced with the solid v clips... then just slid the light up into the can...
I left the instruction at the other house but had the v clips and at first did not know what they were for...but looking at the light I took out...that were up with two solid tin things bent out..
Was easy

House flipper gold. You can also adjust them by 500k to get the light desired for room. Cheap and easy to install, one of the best bang for buck items on the market
