Ran 20 yds. Wind was so bad I didn’t hear her crash.

My son had a doe run out at 510. Had it in the crosshairs at 80y but she wouldn’t sit still. He’s only 9. First deer he’s seen while holding a gun.

The doe I shot yesterday evening was 15yds away, lol. She ran 20 yards with a great blood trail. I debated for 15-20 minutes if I was going to shoot. She just kept getting closer and closer.

Just killed one at 20 yards tonight with the slug gun. She made it about 15 yards and I’m surprised it was that far. Even if not ray charles could have followed the blood trail. Normally wouldn’t have shot with rut going but it was cold 18’ up in a ladder and with no meat in the freezer yet she shouldn’t have tempted fate.
