The last Cup race on dirt was Sept. 30, 1970 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. Richard Petty won a 200-lap race on the half-mile track. He earned $1,000.

Are those cars even able to drive on dirt?

Disappointing for Eldora who has been laying the groundwork for NASCAR's return to dirt.

Oh well, hopefully we get some World of Outlaws shows on it. I'll be there to shoot em if so

They are fricking desperate.

It’ll work. I’ll actually watch this.

So, if I am interpreting this correctly there is a 100% chance of rain on race weekend at Bristol next spring.

Oughta be interesting! I wonder what sort of car modifications will be allowed. Those cars built for concrete/asphalt won't work very well on dirt.

From seeing the changes made to the schedule, its looks like NASCAR is at least trying to get away from the cookie-cutter tracks and get some new blood in the schedule.

One change that I don't particularly like is taking away the Brickyard 400 at IMS and moving to the road course; can you really not give IMS 2 races, both the road course and rectangle.

Two years ago the Brickyard attracted less fans than a minor league baseball game. They're lucky they kept a date, let alone having two.

The Brickyard is a very boring race.

im pretty fired up about the cota race, but am thinking they will have to use the club circuit and not the national circuit. turn 11 is way too tight for them.

one of my buddies texted me yesterday reminiscing of the first year of f1 and me getting in an argument with some eurotrash over my dale jr bud jacket. good to know like fans will be in attendance for once.

So happy that we got our 2nd date back at AMS. It's a legacy track and deserves 2 dates. Same w/Darlington(they almost went bankrupt a couple of years ago). Happy to see both w/2 dates again.

And the fact that Atlanta gained it's 2nd race at the expense of Kentucky, which is whom they lost their 2nd date to in the first place, is, as the great Alanis Morissette sang " Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?"

Interesting to see what happens with Kentucky and Chocagoland as I understand they won't be hosting any of the 3 series

Kentucky speedway is closing down in terms of racing. They’re gonna host events there(wedding receptions, tough mudder) stuff like that. They let go of around 30 people within the first day or two after they found out they weren’t going to be hosting any races.

They’ve lost their fan base. Winston-Salem’s Bowman Gray flat asphalt track (former NASCAR track that races around Winston-Salem State’s football field ) is packed on Saturday’s while NASCAR is racing on TV with half empty stands (pre-covid). I love it.
