Hell of a good way to spend an hour and half if you want to relive some of the vibe from the early eighties.
SMS Concert via Youtube
Also on Prime Video.
Stop Making Senseis a 1984 American concert film featuring a live performance by American rock band Talking Heads. Directed by Jonathan Demme, it was shot over the course of four nights at Hollywood's Pantages Theater in December 1983, as the group was touring to promote their new album Speaking in Tongues. The film is the first made entirely using digital audio techniques. The band raised the budget of $1.2 million themselves.
The film has been hailed by Leonard Maltin as "one of the greatest rock movies ever made", and "the finest concert film" according to Robert Christgau, while Pauline Kael of The New Yorker described it as "close to perfection".

One of my favorite live albums and great movie. Surprisingly, their other live album, The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads is even better.

Byrne is underrated as a front man... One of the best out there.

quote:He definitely brings the energy to the concert. I was surprised because while I knew of the music I had not seen the live show.

They've been showing it on Pluto TV as well the past month or so. Watched it a few weeks ago. Killer performance all around.

Talking Heads are one of those bands that put out music that has an endless shelf life.
I was 13 when Burning Down The House was all over the radio and Mtv. Couldn't tell you how many times that I've heard it in the last 37 years(it's a lot), but I still love it as much as I did the first time that I heard it.
The same goes for Psycho Killer and Life During Wartime.

The sound at their concerts was excellent. High quality tapes exist for many of them. Check out the ones from flushing meadows from that tour where they played two nights.
