OG Predator was a punk

He got beat fair and square but couldn’t handle it so he used his self destruct like a bitch. Aren’t these guys supposed to be all about honor and the sport of it? Take your L dude.

Its to prevent them from being captured and their tech from falling into the hands of an enemy. The City Hunter tried to do the same in Predator 2 until Danny Glover stopped him.

This. It also happened in AVP and AVP 2. Up until the most recent films the defeated Predator always set off a nuke to ensure that nothing was captured/ensured that there was no 'winner.'
In Predators there was no nuke but the Predator did destroy his own ship to avoid a similar fate.

I have to agree. I always thought that was super petty.
Most other predators were pretty straight up about their job but super predator in the last one was a huge a-hole as well.

AVP wasn’t awful. It’s mid-2000s cheese but I could watch it again.

I always thought it was kinda punkish, but more of a “soldiers with a cyanide pill in case of capture” kind of thing, so I was cool with it.
Also, AVP is kinda awesome. AVP: Requiem is atrocious garbage.
The Predator did suck as well. Predators was okay, but Adrien Brody as some super badass is so hilarious that it distracts from the movie IMO.

Yeah Brody trying to do his best Christian Bale Batman voice to seem like a hardass was a weird choice but a fine movie if you knew what you were getting walking into the theater.
I honestly didn’t think The Predator was that bad but did leave a lot to be desired.

AVP should have been a hard R horror movie. Instead it was just a generic monster flick, not bad but very disappointing. Requiem was terrible.
