LSU leading the field as WRU, and it’s not really close...

quote:not at all a Bama fan but this list has a large time span of wide receivers. Bama is more than likely in top 5 if it takes into account just recent history. LSU will for sure continue producing elite WRs in the near future in the present offense.
Bama not in top 10
We have the potential for 3 receivers to be taken this year in the first 3 rounds in the draft. Chase, Marshall, & McMath.
The back half of that room is stacked with talent also.
This year’s receiver recruiting class could be the best ever.

#1 at WR
#2 at RB
It's a shame what could've been the past 10 years offensively.

Had we not had to play Miles ball for the previous decade, it is very likely we would have another natty maybe two.

LSU...the team that was known for having a stone-aged, 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense for nearly all of the past decade...is legitimately WRU.
This is why I love football.

ETA: Bama not in top 10...
Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Amari Cooper, Henry Ruggs, Jerry Jeudy are first rounders that come to mind under Saban

Only gonna get better with Jefferson now in the league. Chark a budding star. Obviously Odell and Jarvis. Ja’Marr and Terrace will be high picks this next draft and guys like Boutte, Palmer, Earle, Smith, Hilton, Thomas Jr in the years after them.

Crazy that he made it to two and had a few years where we were a game away from a natty shot. Hell if he sees this he may have won 3-4

He recruited and developed lineman fine. The problem was that he didn't run a good enough offense, and never hired a guy that could actually develop college QBs. For example look at Michigan's slightly above average arse, and look at Stanford when Harbaugh was there also. Minus his time with a literally genius at QB in Andrew Luck, he never accomplished shite offensively, and both of those programs under him sent legit lineman to the NFL.
That pro style shite has been dead in the water for over a decade now and it's because it requires way more mentally prepared coaches and players (way more talented) to run and implement it properly, unless you have those geniuses or football cerebral QBs. Richt utilized a more wide open approach during his time which is why he could get the best out of his offenses. Actually, it was more Mike Bobo, and almost every single one of his QBs played good at worst. But yeah, you get what I'm saying.
Kirby has finally realized that his teams are also falling behind because of it. Saban slowly made the transition starting about 5-6 years ago.

One of the key factors is NFL production. Outside of Jones, Cooper, and what little Ridley has done in the last couple years, Bama doesn't scratch the surface.
I argued with a guy about this last month, when we were discussing how Speedy Noil going to TAMU instead of LSU probably ruined his chances at getting paid in the NFL. Guy wanted to state that LSU barely sent anybody to the draft at WR after Beckham and Landry til just now with Justin Jefferson, which was true kinda. Problem with that is that just using the year Noil came out of HS, LSU had FIVE starting WRs in the NFL.
2014
Beckham 1305 yards 12 TD 35 rushing 2 TD
LaFell 953 yards 7 TD
Landry 758 yards 5 TD
Bowe 754 yards
Randle 611 yards 6 TD
NOBODY, in the country (college program wise), boasted a group of WRs like that in the NFL.
Plus like I've stated on here many times, the only reason LSU didn't put out more WRs during that draft span (2015-2019), was because we had terrible WR coaches, and horrendous QB play. Chark's extremely gifted athletic abilities allowed him to be the only one to make something of himself, which falls directly in line with Noil.

Number 2 for RBs. How in the heck is Kevin Faulk not even listed?!?
Edit: Are is this a list for those drafted in the last 20 years? As he was drafted in 99
