I just went in and changed my chrome start page and default search to DuckDuckGo. I am going to give it an honest try.
I thought it used google under the covers, but after some research it looks like they have their on bot and they also combine information from bing, wikipedia and a lot of other sources.
Privacy is king for them. I am giving it an honest shot.

Google is one of the leading liberal progressive proponents. I avoid using their products as much as possible though admittedly is difficult due to their technological dominance. It's not unlike boycotting Chinese products; again their are so prevalent in the marketplace that it makes it very difficult to avoid their products.
