With all the bars closed I’m thinking about dusting off the ol’ John Daly’s and taking a stroll down some of the iconic courses of my youth.

Extremely mediocre a week ago, but it had rained a lot the day prior so maybe it deserves some grace

Webb has improved tremendously in the last few years, I played last in December and the Fairways are actually filled with real turf grass and pretty consistently throughout the whole course. Greens were over seeded with Rye at the time and bunkers and tee boxes were average as usual

Hmmm.. I played 4 times in March/April and I though the greens were as good as I’ve ever seen them.

Still a good step below Santa Maria and Beaver Creek as a whole. But I was impressed with the greens.

That’s what I heard as well but playing with the person who told me that, they were shocked at the step back the greens took in a month

They usually take a step back or more in the spring when the rye grass dies off and the Bermuda hasn’t filled in

Played there twice in the last two weeks and it's safe to say I'm not going back. Course is in average shape for Webb, but the pace of play is ridiculous. Both days my foursome had to wait 10 min on every tee box. I just don't understand how people play so slow.

1) High handicappers. 4 guys making 3-6 strokes per hole is a lot different than 4 guys making 5-8.
2) Not playing ready golf. If you’re ready before someone else who’s going to take at least another minute, just go.
3) Marking putts a foot away from the hole. Just pick it up and move on.
4) Not playing double or triple max.

You might have just gone at bad times. One day last week I tried to play and they were booked solid on tee times and I couldn't get on but most of the time it's ok.

All it takes on that course (or any course) to slow down play is 1 group of 4-5 dipshits who are playing in a group that's way to big and they generally suck at golf.

And there are certain folks who play in large groups and walk and are slow and refuse to let people play through, but I won't go in-depth about that because I enjoy my posting privileges too much and don't want to be given a timeout...
