More old man gaming questions...

I have an old XBox 360 and am looking to change to a playstation 4. I am a big FIFA fan and will get FIFA 20 when I buy the new system. I will also use the system to stream some sort of TV service.
With that in mind I have seen several types with varying prices of Playstation 4 which should I look to get?
Should I buy the games that I want or download them with some sort of card?

I would recommend getting the cheapest version or waiting to get the Playstation 5, which comes out later this year. While the PS4 Pro is objectively better, if you're going for the "Premium" model, just save your money until PS5.

Entirely personal preference. Physical games be resold, but digital games have their own conveniences.

Just FYI, the PS5 and new Xbox are just around the corner, projected at the end of the year. If you're not too concerned with keeping up with that, I'd go with the best deal you can find for the PS4 Pro. If you think you'll upgrade, get a regular PS4 and save some money. Bloomberg put out a report speculating the PS5 will be $450 (but they are watching to see what Microsoft does first), and a lot of the PS5 launch games will be available for PS4 as well.
Depends on what's important to you. If your internet service has a data cap, all digital games can become a nuisance, especially if you don't upgrade your storage size (meaning you're constantly having to delete something to install something else). If no data cap, digital is the way to go IMO because you don't have to worry about losing and scratching discs. Plus, places like Gamestop are few and far between so getting used physical copies is getting harder and harder. Good thing about discs, though, is that most of the download is on the disc so you're not dipping into your data. But that's not counting big day 1 patches that seem to come with every new game nowadays.
You can buy everything digitally directly from the PSN store and they have sales all the time.

And considering games drop in value so much so fast after release, considering physical copies for trade-in later is a moot point. I mostly PC game, but I do still like physical copies of games for my PS4 just because I have so few games for the console. It's sort of something I grew up with.

I would say the PS4Pro is only worth it if you have a 4k tv and insist on playing games in 4k. It does come with a bigger hd too but resolution seems to be the biggest difference.

The playstation digital store beats retail prices most of the time especially if you are a PS plus member. You may want to get an external hard drive if you get the 500 GB model. It fills up quick.

If I were to buy a hard copy now say at WalMart of FIFA 20 would it be the latest version or would it still need an update?

If you buy FIFA20 on disc there will be a bigass update.

Id say like everyone else seems to be suggesting, wait till the end of the year and the ps5 will come out.

Yeah, 4K is the big difference... Upgrading the HD of a regular PS4 is super easy anyways (or better is to buy the external storage because games in 2020 are ridiculously big)

Thanks everyone... I will probably pick up a used ps4 for less than 200.
