Jindal was an arse for doing that, and Vitter absolutely detests him. But, yeah, you’re spot-on there.

I read the front page this morning and thought "meh, another hit piece on a conservative."

I went and read the rest of the story. I don't think he did anything illegal...but it was plenty shady.

I don't think he will be governor anytime soon. He may not even be AG next time around.

Same here.
All I ask the Advocate is to expose the same type of shady deals for both sides.
The public is best served when we know the associates of all our elected officials and appointees.

He put his own ego and pride above putting Louisiana conservatives in the best possible position to succeed and make sure progressives don't win the election even if his successor may be someone he personally doesn't get along with.

That was the real test for a leader and Jindal completely failed in a humiliating way like the small man he really is and that was a good example as to why he left office in a massive disgrace.

I suspect that's one of the reasons why Jindal hasn't gotten any calls from the Trump Admin for a cabinet post or even running some random alphabet soup agency.

Turns out that was for a good reason.

Are you willing to give me odds on this right now?

Give me 4-1 odds and I’ll put up $100 right now that JL will be governor within the next 10 years.

No, a ten year bet is dumb.

But check back in 2022 around May and I might be willing to do a sig bet about the next gov election.

Must be bad if he lost BigJim.

Seems like a “do as I say, not as I do” situation. Immigrants are bad unless I can bill them out to industry for $100/day while only paying them $40

You just hate to see it for ole Jeff

i think there is a big distinction b/w legal and illegal immigrants that is going to be left out of the talking points

JL seems to have a lot of cover on the illegality and it seems that the guy who was convicted is just trying to throw dirt out after he tried to give the feds "dirt" and they didn't think it was worthy. if the feds don't think there is enough to go after a state-level politician, then it's a real stretch to claim illegality.

Sure, but you’re telling me he couldn’t go to Appalachia and find Americans to come down and work? He could, but he couldn’t force the margins on them as he could the Mexicans, legal or illegal.

It’s incredibly hypocritical for a guy who embraces Trumpism wholeheartedly.

I think it’s a philosophy about bringing both skilled and unskilled blue collar jobs back to America and to stop the outsourcing of labor to foreigners because it’s cheaper.
