Trying to progressively build a home gym but not shell out too much money. I really only need a squat rack, a nice bench, and some weights.

Craigslist, Facebook etc. Used to just be Craigslist now it's all over unfortunately.

ive been searching those and it seems like it would be just as cheap/easy to buy new. People seem to think their used shite is worth way more than it is. I was hoping maybe someone would know of a company that buys used equipment wholesale from gyms when they upgrade then sells it out.

Make an offer for high priced stuff
And set up alerts for FB Marketplace, good deals are gone within hours.

You can order something like this on amazon for 120 to 170 dollars depending on some of the specs.
Then, you will just need a barbell, dumbells, and weights.
You can usually find those on facebook/craigs list for about a dollar per pound.

That's probably what im going to do. I don't need a super nice rack that holds up to 1000 pounds or anything like that.

Facebook marketplace. I got my rower, bumpers, kettle bells, and rack on serious discount. I purchased an Ohio Bar, a trap bar, a bench, and a plyo box from Rogue new. Horse mats from Tractor Supply and I was well outfitted.
If you want cheap and new (and don’t care about nice welding), go look at Titan Fitness.

Most of us don't. You can always upgrade later on if you stick with it and get jacked.

I found a lot of bargains on Craigslist and the like. Unfortunately none of it was nearby so I would have to go pick it up or pay for shipping. When you factor that in it wasn't any cheaper than buying new, which is what I did.

As long as you leave plenty of leeway. You don't want to be using a rack rated for only 500 lbs if you're squatting 450. You can cut corners on a lot of things. I bought a cheap bar and weights, but my rack is near top of the line. Knowing the thing won't collapse when you're under it gives you peace of mind.
