Any thoughts on Blake Baker as DC?

He’s current DC at Miami..was at LA Tech before

Hard pass we can do better what has he done to merit consideration? I would promote Raymond before hiring Baker.

Was OK at Tech, but not as good as Diaz. Not ready for that spot, IMO.

I question the influence some DC have when they have have HC's who are already elite defensive minds.

I think he is not a bad option.
Just like I think Co DCs with Raymond and Busch wouldn't be a bad option.
Too much smoke around Richard though. It would be hard to turn him down. That would be a home run hire. Who wouldn't want to play for the Legion of Boom DC.

Miami had #13 def and top 10 SP+ this past season under Baker

Miami’s problem isn’t defense. Their D was solid for the most part this year, but they were very average in key situations.
3rd Down conversion %: 53rd
Red Zone scoring %: 44th
They also gave up a bunch of big plays throughout the season. Their defense got a bad rap this year because their weaknesses were critical and frustrating to fans. They also weren’t as good as they had been under Diaz.
It’s hard to judge him based on one season, plus Miami was very young in the secondary this year. His time at Tech might provide a better overall view of his defenses.
