We were like “they are actually covering Chase one on one “. So much for defensive genius. Not to mention that Clemson D line quit

This is the perfect evidence that teams were forced to pick their poison against us.

I don't think you'll ever see a conservative Coach O again.

Clemson D was salty. Venebles had something for us.

You can’t cover our O without gambling/sacrificing something. They thought they could affect Joe enough to disrupt his downfield throws.

They had success, but you just can’t stop it 100% of the time.

Early on their game plan was to be extremely aggressive on D, bringing the house to get to Burrow and confuse the oline.. especially when we were backed up. Once we got out of our own EZ and Burrow made them pay with a couple of bombs, they were forced to change to be a bit more conservative and pick their huge blitzes more wisely, and it opened up our offense. The gameplan they originally brought might actually be the best strategy against Burrow but he's just too good - he WILL make you pay.

The short fields in the first quarter and the energy with which Clemson came out really affected us. Took as a quarter to get adjusted, and once we started getting better field position we started taking it to their D. They still got a handful of stops, but not nearly enough for the beast that is the real Tigers!

You know one or two quick middle screen passes would have ended that blitz keg up the middle. Then they would have had nothing. But great job !

They had a good game plan. They bothered Joe a lot in the first half.

Clemson fans kept acting like the only game we played was against Oklahoma. Maybe that's the only one they watched and they didn't know about Chase?

They had to cover somebody one on one. If they had doubled him it would be Jefferson with 200 yards.

Clemson D is legit. Just underscores all the more how good the LSU offense was. Also. Most teams would have wilted under the early adversity but the Tigers stayed the course.
