People focus on X’s and O’s, but leading the program and making critical personal decisions for 85 kids is a massive part of the job. O did this like maestro this year.

Yep. Keep it in house. Don’t throw kids under the bus. Give them chances to come back.

Him saying “Dare Rosenthal is eligible this game”

Did Dare serve a 6 game suspension as well?

If so did he lose his first and second string LT for 6 games each this season?

winning seems to drown out things the media likes to harp on

Outstanding post here....and the follow up posts as well

I was thinking this several times over the season!1 No wonder players love him. And note how maturely they all (well except for Dee Anderson portaling out) handled it.

O sets the culture that brings out the best in these guys, even when they make mistakes....I wonder how O would have handled Perilloux? Miles coddled way too much and then would have to boot them....

I’ll be honest, I think picking and choosing which games to suspend is kind of horseshite. Should be the first 6 games.

Head coach is much more about leadership than scheme. O is head coach kinda guy. his talents best serve a team at the top, not as a coordinator obviously.

The fact that most of the details weren't public is my favorite part.

Well the MJ rule is equally horseshite, so it fits. For suspensions arising from “real” issues I don’t think the same choice exists.

O has shined across the board whether it be recruiting, letting assistants do their job, handling suspensions, and creating one team one heartbeat. This is why players want to run through a brick wall for him.

Thank you O for making me a believer

The injuries and suspensions were substantial, and handling the OL left side was especially well managed. College HC include GM role.

Amen to that! Not rushing injuries back on the field helped a lot. Everything lined up for Auburn/Alabama games.

Perfect planning!

Why punish the entire team for one player’s off the field mistake?
