Probably discussed already but I think it needs to be looked at as a lesson learned for our head coach and staff. I don't want to imagine this ever happening again but ..... if LSU had fumbled on their last possession and Aub WON the game EVERYONE on this board would be wanting our CEO of Tiger football operations FIRED! After CEH ran for 1st down and we were called for holding the game was essentially over. All we had to go was take a knee 3 times. Clock started running b/f re-doing 1st down by some strange rule that I don't get. Anyway CLM took a lot of crap (and rightfully so) for his bumbling clock management issues. This could have been the worst of them all. Glad everything worked out. Hopefully next time we'll take a knee. LOL

Auburn still had a timeout they didn’t use. I trust joe and Lloyd to execute

Ignoring a large quantity and quality of frick ups to reach the ‘worse’ conclusion. From trying to call a timeout in game 2 against Tennessee’s an INT through ole miss, tenn again, PSU, Clemson .... just off the top of my head.

I don't think so. They didn't use a timeout b/c they didn't have any. That's why Danielson was saying we didn't have to run the ball - just take a knee. Otherwise, Auburn would have used a timeout and gotten the ball back. Anybody else?
Just trying to make a point that CEO should learn from this specific situation should it ever happen again in his career. I would venture to bet that if you asked him would he have taken a knee 3 times had he known the clock would run out he would say "Hell Yea and Geaux Tigers!"

I was pissed when we ran the ball but they eventually got it right taking a knee. In no way was this ever close to any of CLM clock management issues.

If there hadn’t been a holding penalty, three kneel downs would have left time on the clock for 4th down. They needed to attempt for a first down to ice the game. The holding penalty (whether it had been declined or accepted) won the game.

You are ONE BILLION PERCENT right. I was telling my son the exact same thing when they started the clock after the hold. My math added up to take a knee 3 times, don't screw with the handoff. I always think of clock stuff throughout the game.Oh, and all the idiots who downvoted you are wrong. That was an unnecessary risk taken by coach O.
