Your left tackle was hanging on to Chaisson’s jersey after he beat the block and got around him. No way that’s clean.

It is “okay” to grab a defensive player by the chest plate,
as long as you don’t extend the arms.

What I don't understand is how you get hold of the chest plates without 'reaching' for them. Surely you don't wait until the opposing chest plates collide and then begin to 'hold' them together.

What is the extent of the 'reach' which establishes the initial 'hold them there' situation?

Never understood the intricacies of interior line play.

All state right tackle, 8 years at o line, never got a holding call in my career.

Neither of those pictures are holding, though I'm sure plenty went on during the game.

If your guy gets past you, you're perfectly allowed to push him in his back, and push him past the pocket, or push him down in this case. If he wrapped up, yeah hold and tackle.

He didnt. His hands are outstretched, he has no jersey, and he's using the lsu defenders momentum and push him over when he tries to cut up towards the qb.

Also, to address one post here, if you've seen grabbing on the chest plate, it's fine. It's only when they try to get away and you're preventing momentum by holding jersey or chest, while they try to move past (not through you)

The left tackle was holding Chaisson by his jersey on repeated plays.
