My wife and I stopped in at Baton Rouge Social this past Sunday. Someone put a boatload of money into that place. It was a really nice, casual atmosphere. The food was good to pretty good. The service was fair to good. Sure hope this place can make a go of it. The location is perfect for proximity to downtown and LSU. The immediate surrounding area though .....leaves a lot to be desired.

The idea is great. The location is great. Drinks are ok. Food was ok.

Will end up getting trashed like everything else because of the inhabitants around the venue.

The atmosphere is great. I love the feel of the building, but the food wasnt great and extremely overpriced. Almost everything on the menu is $15 or more and you don't get much food.

The building itself is remarkable and worth checking out. They really did an incredible job restoring an old building. I've never had the food but have heard it's anywhere from mediocre to bad. Same with service.

The one time I went I just found the whole layout and concept to be a bit too much, and largely disorganized. It's about 4-5 floors of places to hang out and you never know which areas are blocked off for private events and to get to some parts of the building you have to sometimes unknowingly walk through some private event. The whole thing was just awkward and chaotic. I could swing by for post-work drinks or something in the future but I don't intend to make an evening out of it again. Just not my speed.

I mean, I guess. I don't particularly care for the idea either. But I'm a pretty simple guy. I think they may be able to streamline things and have it be a little less chaotic. Either way, it's not really my cup of tea. One thing they did get right was the renovation of the building itself. It's incredible.

Went last Friday night with my girl. Got there around 11pm and it wasn’t very busy. The place is really nice. We only drank Voodoo, but the food I seen looked great. The band was awesome and the service was good. My only complaint would be it was kinda loud. The band echos like crazy in there. Everybody there was civilized and dressed nice. We had a great time.

Maybe we just had bad luck. We went after work one day last week and it was a complete disaster. 4 of us bowled an entire 10 frame game and not once did a server come to our alley despite requesting one several times. We eventually left w/o ordering any food or beers (during happy hour for F's sake)

A friend of mine relayed a similar experience, only worse. At one point, 5 servers (with nothing else to do) started bowling in the lane next to them, still not even acknowledging their existence. They too did not get any service.
