I've been playing pretty dang well over the last 4 or 5 weeks. My only problem was my putter letting me down on makeable birdy putts and for saving par. Long game has been really good, I'm chipping better than ever before (thanks to the Phil video).

Well, my putter woke up yesterday.

Shot 5 over on the front, had a double bogey because of some low percentage shots I wanted to try for the heck of it... ended up costing me.

But I shot even on the back 9. First time ever shooting even over 9 holes. Felt great. Confidence was high. It was a damn fun round. 2 birdies, 2 bogies, rest pars.

Can't wait to get back out there.

Congrats, I went years without any formal putting training and after 1 round with a "knowledgeable" person my putting completely changed for the better.

I will say that in that video Phil tells you to do things that almost every other video tells you not to fwiw. But

ETA that video may be a different one than I was thinking of.

I love that video. It has helped me a ton. Back of stance for low, front for high. Figure out where and how you want to land it, execute.

Great round.

Remember though, your “best golf” is only a small fraction of your golf.
You will only beat your handicap 1 in 4 times roughly.

When you go back out, you may not play as well.
Don’t despair. Our “bad golf” is also part of the mix that is “our golf”.

Good luck.

You are spot on.

I started bogey, par, par, double, then par, birdie, birdie, par birdie for even 36.

Stumbled in on the back finishing 7,5,7 for 46.

It is what it is, but I remember that even par 9.

The only sensible thing to do now would be to upgrade to Mizuno blades and xx stiff shafts
