Whirlpool washer won't drain - isn't there an expert on the OT somewhere?

Whirlpool washer won't drain. It essentially stops with the error code for Long Drain immediately upon getting to the draining before the spin cycle. Then its pretty much frozen from that point. Ran diagnostic mode and it confirms the error code.

I checked for blockages as best I can.
I replaced the drain pump

Still won't work. I don't even hear the drain pump try to start up at all. I'm assuming that may mean my control board is bad but wanted anything else I should try before I spend the couple hundred bucks on the control board (just to find out its not the control board and most places won't take returns on the control boards or other electronics)

Thanks!

Does it have the pressure switch/tube? Sounds like the same problem mine had and I just reconnected and secured the tube on both ends and haven’t had a problem since.

It does have a pressure switch tube. My understanding is that the pressure switch is when it thinks its done draining (i.e. it won't start the spin cycle but it does do at least some partial draining) but maybe I'm wrong.

Tube is connected to the control board. I'll need to get underneath again (got some water to bail out now) to check it on the bottom I guess. Thanks for the thought. I had checked it up top and for crimping partially, but not that it was connected on the other end.

You’re exactly right; misread your post. If it didn’t stop trying to fill but continued to drain that would be the pressure switch/tube.

Still something easy to check that can’t hurt I suppose

I had to replace the control board on my LG washer.
What was happening to me is somehow only about half the voltage was getting to the pump and other components and nothing worked well at all: no good agitating, wouldn't drain.
Changed board, all good. I did set me back about $150.

When mine did something similar, it was because there was $4 of coins in the coin trap that I didn't even know existed.

I had the same issue. It's an easy fix. Most likely the lid switch. Nah, that can't be the problem is what I thought at first...but the lid switches go bad. Watch youtube. The switch is about 15 dollars.

I had the same problem with my Whirlpool Cabrio with the same error code but changing the drain pump fixed it. I know you’ve done this - all I can suggest is is double check your electrical connections to the new pump to make they are well seated. I know it’s a pain in azz having to empty the damn tub by hand every time you have to turn it over to get underneath it. Good luck.

P.S. I was kind of secretly hoping at the time that wouldn’t fix it so I could buy a Speed Queen.

Thanks for your thoughts guys.

I'd hate to buy a new washer, but also am leary of wasting $200-250 on a computer board just to figure out its not the issue or have to pay $140+ to a repairmanwho will then make me pay more than $200 for a computer board.

Plus it seems these Cabrio's (the Maytag version and some of the Whirlpool version) don't last too long past 5 years from reading reviews - multiple things go wrong.

My washer was doing the same thing this weekend. After checking literally every part on the washer, I checked the lid switch. The housing had come apart. Zip-tied it up and it’s running like a top.

Speed Queen machines are GREAT! Best investment we ever made in a washer/dryer combo. We got the "plain Jane" models,
no buttons, very few electronic parts. It;s like having a commercial machine in our house. They come with unbelievable warranties, 15 yrs on major mechanical and 3 yrs on everything.
