To make a big splash on NSD and string Bama along ?

Any chance of that

Possible? Well, yeah.

I'm not sure I like that game though. But hey, if it works, I'll take it.

Apparently O didn't accept a commitment from Kennedy for some reason. In theory it's because O knew Kennedy would jump ship to bama once he got an offer. It's no secret that saban will go after LSU recruits just to keep them from going to LSU. He did this with Matt Womack. So could O be playing this game and have confederates with some of these recruits? Maybe, but they would have to be all LSU to begin with. O said he would flip the script. I think he is on the way to doing this. But regardless what happens in the spring and summer, flipping the script will only go so far until he flips the script in the fall. O can sell recruits on LSU building an elite program for a couple years, maybe even 3, but if they don't beat bama and/or win a NC, recruits will stop buying into the talk. LSU and O must walk the walk. A NC will go a long way into flipping the script.

I don't think it's about winning a NC for most of these kids, it's more about maximizing their ability and becoming a high draft pick. Clemson is doing that and having fun AND winning championships. That's a tough hill to climb for LSU.

Nope, as another poster stated O doesn’t have the political clout to do that, especially if it fails! Aleva is gone, so if we lost let’s say Roy “who is very highly ranked” to Satan and it came out later that O was trying that strategy and it backfired and Roy went to Bama. What do you think would be the blow back from students, fans, alumni and sports writers? Not to mention how much heat he would catch internally!

Nope O doesn’t have that kind of clout yet!

I'm there with ya on that.

I'd rather just recruit and win recruiting battles straight up than all the drama and head games.

But, that's what society is now. The reality tv/social media generation where everything has to be a fricking clown show swathed in hues of disinformation. I guess if that's the dirty game we have to play because we know the Evil Midget is masterful at it, then so be it. Hopefully Orgeron is every bit as ruthless but more personally charming.

Seeing these kids play the game makes me appreciate guys like Kardell Thomas and Devin White even more, as those are among the minority of players that man up, commit, help recruit others and remain solid through the process after commitment.

I guess I'm just old school. I always shyed away from even positive attention and would rather redirect it toward others that helped me to get said attention in the first place. That, and my dad and grandpa raised me to stick with something once I commit to it and always give 100%.

These traditional values are dying

I think you only do that with someone you know is 100% onboard. Didn't we all think Roy and Guillory were both locks not too long ago?

Nope! We've seen this again and again for 8 years usually if a elite DT or OL waits to the last minute they go to Bama.

But if the OP is right, he gets mad props and we get two great players and a complete reversal of perception. Woodward doing work

If the oft said meatball problem is real, then it is also a coach o problem until coach o corrects the meatball problem.

Sadly, if the meatball problem is NOT real, then the problem still falls on coach o.

The reason is very very simple. Everything falls on the head coach.

He is in charge of recruiting and hiring coaches, team prep and everything else that involves winning games.

If the board has some sentimental favor towards o and/or meatball, then you will see the same thing happen in 2015 with the LSU Facebook moms that saved les miles in the 11th hour. All that did was set us back 8 months.

Don’t expect undefeated/playoff seasons until these things can get corrected. Lax your expectations on the win loss column if you lax expectations on the coaches.

No that’s 100% not happening.

If that were the case you do that with monster names like Ricks.

Conspiracy theories are getting out of hand.
