They just announced game after game. No speeches, live services, or mobile titles.

It was a solid showing, but not my favorite. BOTW2 is going to be reusing lots of assets, so at least it can't be very far off.

Xbox was good too.

Still had the excitement of live broadcast (Keanu moment) but kept the talking to a minimum and showed a bunch of games, while also talking about Scarlett.

That’s what they all need to move too.
One 45 to an hour presentation of game videos with slight tech talk then leave the rest of the event to release more specific details.

I also liked Nintendo’s treehouse stuff afternoon

Microsoft was a nice 1a/1b in this one.

Sony missing was a big, strange, move.

Agreed.

You actually got an understanding of their games.

I'm optimistic about Ghostwire Tokyo, Doom, and Deathloop.

I really didn't care for anything by Ubisoft and EA. I did enjoy the first Watch Dogs, so maybe the new one will be cool.

Microsoft did a whole lot of talking like usual.

Threw out a lot of celebrities and endorsements like usual.

A lot of their best games were multi plats so I really wasn’t that impressed. Had a lot of bells and whistles but it had no substance for the most part. Nintendo’s was short and sweet, wasn’t very cinematic, had a lot of gameplay and no crazy flashing lights or long speeches about bringing people together or how important gaming is to the growth of society blah blah blah. Just get the frick on man and announce some games. Don’t care about your philosophical jargon. Although I gotta say I love Phil Spencer. He’s a cool dude and I respect how he’s handled his job. I think the way Microsoft’s conference goes is more of a reflection on the culture of the area that Microsoft is based in rather than the actual company itself.

So that’s that.

I would agree. Followed be by Square Enix. Microsoft's conference I that was really disappointing.

I thought Microsoft's was pretty bad, although to be fair I am far from the target audience (I have a PS4 and a switch).

Overall though it was just a sort of weird conference. Their sections on Gears and Halo were just strangely shallow (especially Gears - that's coming out soon and the trailer somehow managed to be long and not really show any gameplay)

I will play Elden Ring but man that trailer was pointless. Felt like there were only a handful of good game demos (FF7, Doom, even Watch Dogs) that actually showed something about the game and none of those took place during the Microsoft conference.

Ori looks great, and I wish Playstation would steal gamepass. Those were the main takeaways to me.
